Original Post So not wanting to spend $150 to replace differential fluid for both axles (need slightly 5.25pts, so need to buy 3qts to get the needed 2.625pts), what SAE 75W85 API GL-5 Gear and Axle Oil/Lubricant is good? …Minimum spec is 80W-90, which I think is usually semi-synthetic. Or you could use 75W-90 full synthetic. Just make sure it says GL-5 differential oil on the bottle, since a lot of these viscosities overlap with transmission oils that are GL-4 spec on the package. So in short: GL-5 = differential oil, GL-4 = (manual) transmission oil.

There are 2 ways to change the front. The easiest would be the suction gun, which would get most of it out.
